About The Tampa Angler
My name's Kenny. I live in Tampa, I fish the bay, and I got tired of every Tampa fishing search result being either ten-year-old advice from a captain's neglected website or a churned-out content farm post that clearly never touched salt water.
The Tampa Angler is my answer: one well-maintained, honest, locally informed site for everything a Tampa Bay angler — local or visiting — actually needs to know. What's biting now. When the seasons run. Which charters are worth booking. Which gear actually holds up. The license rules without the runaround.
How this site stays honest
I make money two ways: affiliate commissions when readers book charters or buy gear through links on the site, and (eventually) local sponsorships from Tampa-area fishing businesses. Both are clearly disclosed, and neither one decides what I write.
I'll tell you when I haven't personally fished a spot. I'll tell you when a recommendation is based on local reputation instead of personal experience. I'll tell you when a regulation changed last week and I'm still confirming. Honesty is the only thing this site has that the AI-spam sites don't.
What you won't find here
- Listicle filler. No "Top 27 Tampa Fishing Tips" garbage padded out for word count.
- Fake captains and review-mill content. Every charter recommendation is hand-picked.
- Stale data. Tides, seasons, regulations get refreshed — and dated.
- Pressure to book. Plenty of fishing in Tampa Bay is great DIY. I'll say so when it is.
