About The Tampa Angler
A Tampa Bay angler who got tired of finding bad advice online. So I built the site I always wanted.
My name's Kenny. I live in Tampa, I fish the bay, and I got tired of every Tampa fishing search result being either ten-year-old advice from a captain's neglected website or a churned-out content farm post that clearly never touched salt water.
The Tampa Angler is my answer. One honest site for everything a Tampa Bay angler actually needs to know. What's biting now. When the seasons run. Which charters are worth booking. Which gear actually holds up. The license rules without the runaround.
How this site stays honest
I make money two ways: affiliate commissions when readers book charters or buy gear through links on the site, and (eventually) local sponsorships from Tampa-area fishing businesses. Both are clearly disclosed, and neither one decides what I write.
Some spots on here I fish all the time. Some I've heard about from people I trust and haven't gotten to yet. I'll tell you which is which. Same with charters. Same with regulations that I'm still tracking down. Nobody knows everything about this bay, and I'm not going to pretend otherwise.
What you won't find here
- No fluffy list articles like "Top 27 Tampa Fishing Tips" just stretched out to sound important.
- No fake captains or paid review nonsense. I only recommend charters I trust or that locals actually vouch for.
- No outdated info. I keep the tides, seasons, and rules fresh and show when it was last updated.
- No pushy sales talk trying to get you to book a charter. Plenty of great fishing here you can do on your own, and I'll tell you when that's the smarter way to go.
